Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform begins fact check production, with the help of AFP, APA and the Gulbenkian Foundation

Ukrinform
Thanks to specialized training from Agence France-Presse and the Austrian news agency Austria Presse Agentur (APA) https://apa.at/, Ukrinform started producing fact checks in Ukraine in recent months, as the country faces a steady stream of war-related disinformation campaigns.

The training was part of a project funded by the European Media and Information Fund (EMIF), managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. It is the first major Ukrainian media outlet to be trained in fact-checking, a crucial step as the war in Ukraine enters its second year. The training was conducted between October and December 2022. Ukrinform has since published over 60 fact-checks on its website.

Ukrinform is Ukraine's sole national news agency that has been operating since 1918. Every day, the agency provides readers with more than 300 news stories, exclusive comments, analytical materials, interviews, infographics, videos and photos.
